Cookies

Suggested text: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. How We Use Cookies for Tracking: We use third-party tracking technologies (such as cookies, pixels, and scripts) from partners like CJ Affiliate and Impact. These tools allow our partners to recognize that you arrived at their site via a link from Plant-Based Southerner so that we can be credited for the referral. These cookies do not store personally identifiable information (PII) and are used solely for the functional purpose of attribution and performance analytics.

You can opt out of cookie tracking at any time by adjusting your browser settings or visiting Network Advertising Initiative.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share information with service providers who help us run our site and business (such as our hosting provider Linode, MailerLite for emails, and affiliate networks for link tracking). All third-party providers are vetted for their own privacy compliance.

How long we retain your data

Suggested text: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, have left comments, or are a subscriber to our newsletter, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To make a request, please contact us at [admin@plantbasedsouthern.com]

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Additionally, as part of our site operations, your data may be processed through the following third-party services:

  • Hosting: Our site is hosted on secure servers provided by Linode located in the United States.
  • Email Marketing: If you subscribe to our list, your data is transferred to MailerLite for processing and communication.
  • Affiliate Tracking: If you click on an affiliate link, a non-identifiable “click ID” is sent to our partner networks (such as CJ Affiliate) to ensure proper commission attribution.

We ensure all third-party partners maintain strict data protection standards.

Email Marketing & Subscriber Data

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and name. This data is stored securely via our third-party email service provider, MailerLite. We use this information solely to send you WFPB recipes, updates, and occasional promotional offers. You may opt-out at any time using the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email.

Automation & Data Processing

We may use self-hosted automation tools (such as n8n) to streamline our communication and site management. These tools process data (like form submissions) according to our strict privacy standards and are not used to share your data with unauthorized third parties.
